In a major win for the Delhi Police, three people have been apprehended and nearly 848 kilograms of used surgical hand gloves have been seized from two godowns in southwest Delhi’s Dabri. The three arrested were involved in the recycling and resale of used hand gloves. The used surgical gloves were collected from scrap dealers and the accused later washed and packed them in new packets and sold them as unused ones and earned profits.

As per the cops, the three accused, identified as Arun Shriniwasan (36), Manish Kumar (30), and Dinesh Kumar Rajput (28) were nabbed on Tuesday and were booked for disobedience to order duly promulgated by a public servant and negligent act, likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life.
848kgs of used gloves seized
The Delhi Police nabbed one of the accused after receiving a tip-off about a godown in Chanakya Place in Dabri being used for illegal activities. His arrest further led to the arrest of the two others from another godown in Badri.
At least 848 kgs of used surgical gloves from both the godowns were recovered and the godowns along with the used gloves were sealed as they may pose a serious threat to health.

A similar incident was reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad in the first week of May where a raid was conducted at the factory which led to the recovery of used and recycled surgical gloves. Three people were held in connection with this case. The police seized 800 packing boxes, three washing machines and some chemicals from the factory.
