Congress’ veteran leader and ex-chief minister Kamal Nath has landed himself in another trouble yet again. The Election Commission Of India has ordered an FIR against Ex-CM alleging misappropriation of funds in the 2019 Loksabha Elections. This is the second time Kamal Nath has been summoned by the ECI.
The commission had earlier stopped him from doing rallies and meetings during Madhya Pradesh’s 2019 Vidhan Sabha elections. ECI took this step when they received complaints of Kamal Nath violating the Model Code Of Conduct. ECI even warned him for his alleged derogatory remarks against on BJP leader Imarti Devi which he later clarified that his comments were ‘misinterpreted’.
Kamal Nath didn’t fight the election last year since he was CM, his son Nakul Nath fought the election on Chindwara’s seat and won by a normal margin of 37536 votes. Whereas Kamal Nath has been MP from Chindwara for 8 years. His wife too has won from this seat as well.
The following order from ECI is sure to ruin Congress’s image because Nath is one of the most prominent leaders of the party and an allegation like this is not expected to go well with a man of his stature.
