Just before the third test between India and England which was supposed to held in Motera in the world’s largest stadium. The stadium has been renamed as Narendra Modi( the current PM of India) stadium currently from Sardar Patel Stadium.

The stadium is the world’s largest stadium with a seating capacity of 1,10,000 and 4 dressing rooms. President Ramnath Kovind on Wednesday inaugurated the newly made stadium just before the start of the day and night test between India and England. Home minister Amit Shah, BCCI secretary Jay Shah and Sports minister Kiren Rijiju were also present at the time of the inauguration ceremony of the stadium.

It is only the second occasion for the Pink Ball test in India as the first was played in Eden Gardens in Kolkata against Bangladesh. Indian captain Virat Kohli has already praised the stadium by saying that we are proud to have the largest cricket stadium in the world and its infrastructure is very good and we are looking forward to play in the stadium.

The stadium boasts massive sitting capacity of 110000 beating Melbourne Cricket Stadium which has the capacity of holding 90000 spectators at a time. The stadium located in Ahmedabad is the world’s only stadium which has 11 Centre pitches on the main ground, 6 indoor pictures with bowling machines and 4 dressing rooms.

BCCI President, Saurav Ganguly, who went through 2 angioplasties also shared his regret on twitter for not being present on the inauguration event. The stadium is all set for the action to be witnessed here on Wednesday.
