Ever Since International Figures like Rihanna, Greta Thunberg tweeted about the ongoing farmer’s protest in Delhi, it was not well perceived by many in the country. The government itself issued a statement saying that it is absolutely an internal matter for the country and no outside interference would be tolerated.
Many indian celebrities tweeted in favour of the government, saying that Propaganda will not work and India stands united. Sachin Tendulkar, the famous cricketer icon was one of them as well.
But now, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Shivanand Tiwari on Friday targeted former India cricketer. After, Rihanna drew attention to the suffering of farmers on social media. Shivanand Tiwari said that the government has actually appointed people like Sachin Tendulkar to take on Greta Thunberg and Rihanna. He said that even the farmers do not know who these people are.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Tiwari said, “Farmers don’t understand Twitter. This Twitter politics has started recently and has been in trend lately. Farmers living in villages don’t have any information about Twitter. No. They don’t know anything about Greta Thunberg or that singer (Rihanna).
“He has been awarded with Bharat Ratna, but he keeps on advertising products. Bharat Ratna given to people like Sachin Tendulkar which is an insult to the prestigious award. Will people not see the sufferings after Tendulkar’s comments. Such things will no longer work.”
